AmCham Hosts the 4th Seminar on FATCA

The American Chamber of Commerce in Jordan (AmCham-Jordan) hosted U.S. expats, investors and businesses at its 4th Annual Seminar on American Taxation for Expats and Business. The seminar was held on Tuesday, May 24th at the Bristol Hotel. The seminar hosted prominent figures and business owners from across the Kingdom in a lively discussion about the American taxation system. Delivering opening remarks was Mrs. Rose Alissi, AmCham-Jordan CEO, where she stressed on the importance of such workshops in providing insights and guidance to Americans working abroad and businesses interested in engaging the U.S. market while adhering to foreign accounting and reporting systems.

Mr. Eugene Garmize from the American populous, spoke about the services rendered by the citizens affairs.The seminar was conducted by Mr. Fouad Kraishan, Managing Partner at FKAC Auditing & Consulting, UAE, and Mr. G.F. Joey Musmar, Managing Partner at Miller Musmar, CPAs, USA.

Mr. Kraishan spoke on a variety of topics including the U.S. Federal & State Tax for Expats, Tax Planning for Foreign Businesses & Investments in the U.S., Tax Planning for U.S. Business Overseas, and how best to comply with the Foreign Accountant Tax Compliance Act (FATCA) and Foreign Bank Accounts Reporting (FBAR). Mr. Musmar further elaborated on, inbound and outbound transactions, strategic structuring of transactions, FIRPTA and how to best utilize amnesty programs that are available to us expats.
