AmCham Jordan at the AmCham Egypt UNDP Conference

Team AmCham Jordan attended the AmCham Egypt and UNDP Conference, “A Commitment to Development: The Private Sector’s Role in Inclusive Growth”, with keynote speaker, former President of Mexico, Mr. Filepe Calderon.

AmCham Jordan’s Chairman, Eng. Mohammed Bataineh; Board Member, Mr. Fares Hammoudeh; and CEO Ms. Rose Alissi, met with President Calderon of Mexico and both the President and CEO of AmCham Egypt, Messers Anis Aclimandos and Tamer El Naggar, as well as Egypt’s Minister of Trade and Enterprise, H.E. Tarek Qabil; Minister of Petroleum and Metallurgical Wealth, H.E. Tarek El Molla; and the UNDP Resident Representative.

The event celebrated the release of the UNDP/IMC Report: The Role of Business in Society: Alternative Pathways to Social Change. The Panel discussion of the report featured H.E. Laila Iskandar, Ms. Dina El Sherif; H.E. Tarek Qabil, Minister of Trade, Industry, Small and Medium Enterprises; H.E. Ghada Waly, Minister of Social Solidarity; Ms. Noha El-Mikawi, Representative, Middle East and North Africa; Mr. Hisham El Khazindar, Co-Founder and Managing Director, Qalaa Holdings; Mr. Fadi Ghandour; Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Wamda Capital, Founder and Vice-Chairman, Aramex International.

Additionally, AmCham Jordan met with AmCham Egypt’s Senior Staff to discuss areas of cooperation for the two sister organizations going forward. They meetings included AmCham Egypt’s Career Development, Membership, Research and Publications.
